The Moscow region is one of the richest mushroom regions in Russia. Mushrooms in the Naro-Fominsk region are distinguished by a large species diversity. There are many places where you can harvest a high-quality fall harvest.
Mushrooms Naro - Fominsk region
Types of edible mushrooms
Mushrooms in Naro-Fominsk are very diverse. This can be seen by looking at the cards of the mushroom pickers. In total, biologists count about fifty of their species in the region, but some of them are very difficult to find.
Although there is a variety of mushrooms in the area, not all of them are edible. Below is a list of edible and hazardous mushrooms.
Edible varieties:
- pine and spruce mushrooms;
- white;
- real milk mushrooms (sometimes common);
- boletus;
- russula (you will find many of their subspecies not only in the Naro-Fominsk region, but throughout the entire region);
- meadow and forest mushrooms;
- truffles;
- champignons (they are especially difficult to find in forest conditions);
- boletus;
- rows are gray, red and green;
- chanterelles;
- morels;
- violins;
- boletus;
- waves;
- boletus.
Also considered edible are: a gray float (you can eat a young mushroom with high-quality heat treatment) and a false chanterelle (it does not pose a great health hazard, but it is dangerous with a weak gastrointestinal tract).
Types of inedible mushrooms
There are many poisonous mushrooms in the forests
Be careful when collecting. Dangerous varieties include:
- pale toadstool (a bit like russules, ryadovki and mushrooms);
- fly agaric;
- spring entoloma (easy to confuse with May rowing);
- satanic (hard to distinguish from boletus);
- crested lepiota;
- chestnut lepiota;
- bilious;
- brown peppercorns;
- pig;
- flat mushroom champignon;
- gallery bordered;
- russula vomit;
- mycene is pure;
- hebeloma is sticky.
Irina Selyutina (Biologist):
The most common mistake of a novice mushroom picker is to collect a pale toadstool or a stinky mushroom instead of a mushroom. To the untrained eye, these three mushrooms really seem to be "on the same face". But it is worth paying attention to some features and everything will immediately fall into place:
- champignon: pinkish-gray plates;
- pale grebe and smelly fly agaric: the hymenophore is white, and there is a thickening in the form of a tuber at the base of the leg, and it is also covered with a kind of sac.
Porcini mushrooms are confused with satanic or bile mushrooms because of their surprising similarity. But there are differences here:
- porcini mushroom: yellowish or greenish hymenophore;
- gall mushroom: pink cap below;
- satanic mushroom: the thickness of the leg is prohibitive for the boletus, and the color is very bright.
Try to find yourself an experienced travel companion so that you have someone to consult with in case of "mushroom, who are you?"
Places to collect
Some fans of picking wild mushrooms willingly share information about the points where they collect the autumn harvest. Others keep their favorite clearing a secret for years.
If you are new to this business, check out the most famous mushroom spots in the Naro-Fominsk region.
Description of mushroom spots
- Katkina Road, near the village of Shapkino: deserves the greatest praise from the mushroom pickers because people are often too lazy to go far into the forest, especially during the good boletus season. Therefore, a huge amount of harvest can be harvested there in autumn. Most of it is boletus, which are advised to be collected right along the perimeter of an abandoned road.
- village of Golvenki: The harvest is good there, but any mushroom picker can face an unpleasant problem: sometimes military exercises are held under this settlement.
- small town Vereya (towards the village of Volchenki): 10 km from this town you will find large quantities of boletus and porcini mushrooms.
- suburbs of Naro-Fominsk: here you can find chanterelles. However, some mushroom pickers avoid them because they grow by the road. In addition, it should be noted that at the beginning of the harvesting season, chanterelles are edible only after roasting and in small quantities.
- woodlands near the villages of Sharapovo, Krekshino and the village of Petrovsky: mushroom pickers respectfully speak about their "mushroom population".

Features of this season
36 best mushroom picking sites have been approved this year.
However, people are not always guided by officially recognized places for picking mushrooms, motivating this by the fact that even without them there are many who wish. Therefore, they go in search of mushrooms in "free swimming". Well, if a person is not a beginner in this trade, but if such a thought occurs to a "young" prospector? Therefore, rescuers work around the clock.
Rescuers patrolled about 40 points. Employees of the forest inspection joined them almost daily. The fact is that from September to October, people go to the forests, but not everyone is prepared for this.
So, according to statistics for the year before last, in the Moscow region about 400 people disappeared in the forests, more than half of them went to pick mushrooms.
Yes, and this year, there are often announcements of missing elderly people, and such stories do not always end well. To avoid problems, remember about safety during the season, and also do not let your older relatives go to pick mushrooms alone.
Irina Selyutina (Biologist):
If, nevertheless, you get lost in the forest, you need to:
- Do not panic and navigate the terrain: panic has not yet brought anyone to any good. Therefore, you need to go to the sound (railway, highway). The smell of smoke or manure (from the farm) also helps. When you smell the smell, move against the wind, respectively, towards the source of odorous substances. If there are no such landmarks, then it is better to go out to the water and go downstream. You can climb the tallest tree and look around. If you find a path - do not rush to rejoice, determine who walks along it - a person or animals. If the branches constantly hit you in the face and chest, go right away - this "road" was made by animals.
- Arrange a place to spend the night: to do this is necessary to conserve strength. Try to make a fire, the search engines will see it, and the animals will be careful not to approach.
- Find food and drink: water must be sought or collected with plastic wrap. Nutrition is more difficult, however, try to find edible berries (only familiar ones), nuts, or “condemn” collected mushrooms - life and health are more expensive.
- Potential danger in the forest: wild animals may be of interest to you, but even predators attack a person only if they are injured or protect the young. When meeting with an animal, stand still, let it go. Don't turn around or run away - this will provoke an attack (you are the victim). Back away slowly, keeping your eyes on the animal. If you have a wolf or a wild boar in front of you, climb the tree.
- Help rescuers find themselves: so that the search does not drag out, try to stay in one place, especially if you can make a fire.
Silent hunting is a good and practical thing, but human life is more important. We recommend that you remember the number 112, which you need to call in case of problems in the forest.
